Overview
Birthday Bounty is a playable web experience, not a page. You identify yourself at a space terminal, accept a bounty, and move through the ship — arcade, radio, encrypted database — until a transmission depending on your birth date.
The problem
A gift needed to be something you inhabit. A static greeting would not hold a point of view; the piece had to be a small game with progress and an ending that belongs to the person playing.
The approach
Structure the piece as rooms and missions. CRT, pixel type and a snarky console carry a space-western tone. Progress and audio live in the browser. On mobile, a bottom bar moves between ship locations instead of desktop hover chrome.
The solution
Access gate, boot sequence, bounty network, cockpit hub, arcade mini-games, radio stations, a subject database, a secret signal, and a finale that splits between celebration, memories, or a locked channel — depending on the date you entered.
